What The Folks Season 3 retains most of the cast from previous seasons, Eisha Chopra, Veer Rajwant Singh, KritiVij, Renuka Shahane, Shishir Sharma. This season is directed by Omar Iyer, Bharat Misra and Pranjal Dua.
In What the Folks season 1 you met the Sharmas, in Season 2 you met the Solankis in What the Folks season 3 you will meet the parental expectations of Nikhil and Anita. Things and families come together in season 3 of the well tied up What the Folks Web Series. The couple is closer to what we call ‘being settled’. Nikhil’s startup that was struggling in the first two seasons seems to be flourishing and Anita has a promotion coming up.
Now that in the first two seasons we saw a resolution to the familial relationships, we finally see Nikhil and Anita bearing the brunt of familial expectations. As the family elders tell them to take the khandan ka vansh aage, they are faced with a pregnancy scare. The season is more about the societal expectations of a married couple, again relatable. It is amazing how the series has explored the relatable episodes and incidents one relation and stereotype at a time in the three series.
The performances are unquestionably good, most of the previous actors have been retained from What the folks season 2. How to move forward with the possibility of the baby and Nikhil’s Dad’s Alzheimer’s, is what keeps the season going as characters try to find for themselves how to exist as individuals and live in a family. Like the two previous seasons this one-two is relatable; What the Folks Season 3 explores old age, the modern dilemma of parenting and self- independence without making one uncomfortable.
Retaining Renuka Shahne and Shishir Sharma was a great call by Dice Media, the veterans do justice to their roles and up the acting level of the series. The viewership of What the Folks season 3 takes a hit as compared to the previous one but it is still decent between 2 to 4 million.
