The year 2017 hasn’t proved to be fruitful for the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan. While his first release for the year ‘Raees’ got mixed reviews from both the critics and the fans his second release for the year Jab Harry Met Sejal tanked at the Box office accumulating just a meagre RS 62.33 crore, leading to huge losses to the distributors. Even though legally SRK wasn’t bound to compensate for the loss of the movie however he did so by refunding 30% to certain distributors.
Shah Rukh has already reimbursed 15% to NH Studioz and 30% to other distributors. NH Studioz acquired all India rights of the film for Rs 80 crore with people expecting the budget to cross at least 100 crores given the star power involved.
However, this is not the first time SRK has decided to compensate distributors; previously he had refunded money for this 2015 flick Dilwale to the distributors.
