The Filmfare awards are held every year for honouring and celebrating the finest talents of Bollywood. Filmfare 2020 was the 65th Filmfare Award function held in Guwahati which made it the first edition of the show to be shot outside Mumbai. 

The event was a star-studded affair that was graced by Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan and many others who were dressed in their best attires. 

Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan hosted Filmfare Guwahati. Zoya Akhtar’s film “Gully Boy” emerged as a big winner of the night. The film bagged many awards including Best Film. The stars of the film Amruta Subhash, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi beamed with smiles as the film had won 13 awards, breaking the record of “Black” that won 11 awards.

Kartik Aaryan, Ranveer Singh and many other Bollywood stars entertained the audience with their powerful performances. The list of Filmfare Winners who took the black lady home are :

Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) – Alia Bhatt (Gully Boy)
Best Actress (Critics) – Taapsee and Bhumi Pednekar (Saand Ki Aankh)
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) – Amruta Subhash (Gully Boy)
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) – Siddhant Chaturvedi (Gully Boy)
Best Music Album – Zoya Akhtar – Ankur Tewari for Gully Boy, Mithoon, Amaal Malik, Vishal Mishra, Sachet – Parampara and Akhil Sachdeva for Kabir Singh
Best Lyrics – Ankur Tewari and Divine (Apna Time Aayega “Gully Boy”)
Best Playback Singer (Male) – Arijit Singh (“Kalank Nahi”, “Kalank”)
Best Debut Director – Aditya Dhar (Uri: The Surgical Strike)
Best Debut Actor (Male) – Abhimanyu Dassani (“Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota”)
