His contribution towards making a social change through his films has been appreciated by the most influential magazine- the TIME magazine. He has been judged as an influential person in the world and has been featured in the ‘Time’s 100 most influential people’ section of the magazine for 2020.
He has shared this news on his Instagram handle. Some of the other global artists in the list are Selena Gomez, The Weekend, Bong Jong Hoo (director of Parasite), Phoebe Waller-Bridge who starred in Fleabag and Micheala Coel, a British actress who sensationalized the world with her show I may Destroy You.
Ayushmann is among the three global actors who have appeared in the influential list section of the magazine. Five Indians, including Ayushmann who have featured in the list are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Bilkis-Dadi of Shaheen Bagh and London based Indian origin doctor Ravindra Gupta who has found a cure for AIDS. Ayushmann is the youngest Indian featured in the magazine.

As an artist, I have only looked to contribute towards bringing a positive change in society through cinema and this moment is a huge validation of my belief system and my journey. I have always believed that cinema has the power to bring about change by triggering the right conversations among people and society.
