Hurried, amateurish attempt to cash in on trend of Hindi heartland gangster dramas

Bicchoo ka Khel Review starts with the story of Akhil Shrivastav played by Divyenndu Sharma, an aspiring writer who wants to avenge the death of his father who dies under ruthless circumstances and the cover-up angers him even further. The backdrop of the series is in Banaras and is about two people Babu played by Mukul Chaddha and his son Akhil.

During the day, both of them work in Chaubey Mishthan Bhandar owned by Rajesh Chaubey featuring Rajesh Sharma and in the night both of them become petty thieves. On the day of his death, Babu goes to a vacant house for stealing and is caught by the police for the murder of local goon Munna Singh played by Gautam Babbar. Babu is found dead in prison in mysterious circumstances.

Akhil firmly believes that his father has been framed and murdered so he plans to bring out the truth. The series is based on Amit Khan’s novel having the same name and starts with Akhil shooting a reputed advocate and social worker Anil Chaubey played by Satyajit Sharma in front of a live audience during university fest.

After killing him, Akhil goes and surrenders to the police and his interrogation gives us a glimpse of different characters’ lives who have met or been with this revengeful man. Filmmaker Ashish R Shukla leaves no chance in keeping this crime thriller interesting and entertaining from the beginning. The series has 9 episodes which have a duration of 20 to 23 minutes and a large number of twists and turns.

The screenplay by Gibran Noorani and Ghalib Asad Bhopali moves at a fast pace and the cinematography by Sunil Pillai is perfect. Bicchoo ka Khel web series is so engaging that when you feel that you have reached close to the truth there are more twists and turns which reminds you that something else is up the writer’s sleeve.

However, the pace at which the narration moves makes it very difficult for the viewers to connect the dots. Another drawback of Bicchoo Ka Khel season 1 is its climax which might make few people disappointed. The initial build-up is great but the big reveal is something not very remarkable.

Some of the dialogues by Kshitij Roy are very witty and the background music helps push the story further. The classical songs included in the series also set the mood of the story. Divyendu Sharma popular as Munna Bhaiya from Mirzapur manages to impress his fans as Akhil Shrivastav.

Divyendu is back with some loud-mouthed dialogues filled with curse words and his comic timing and expression is fabulous. Anshul Chauhan as Rashmi Chaubey has given a good performance. Her chemistry with Divyendu is a highlight of the show as it is very candid. Rajesh Sharma with Protima, his on-screen wife played by Trishna Mukherjee also adds to the thriller with their acting.

The Bicchoo ka Khel web series keeps up the vibe of 80s golden era of Indian cinema and it has everything from hero heroin ka pyaar and gundas to great actions and beautiful songs. With all the above-mentioned components the revenge drama starts on a great note but becomes an average watch later on. We have hereby compiled Bicchoo Ka Khel Ratings from various sources to help you decide on watching the web series.
