Kunal Kemmu’s film is a potpourri of clever writing and brilliant performances.

middle-class man on loose, a suitcase having loot and crafty hoods moving are the major element of Lootcase and familiar in the films which feature illegal cash falling in the hands of a wrong person causing mayhem and murder.

Nandan Kumar a printing press operator played Kunal Kemmu is having a late-night shift and gets a stash of cash and runs away with it. The money is rotten and all the claimants after it are illegitimate. A crook who is a Nat Geo fan played by Vijay Raaz, a corrupt politician played by Gajraj Rao and a pressurized cop Ranvir Shorey starts pursuing the missing suitcase and fun and games start from this point.

The fun and games should have started and it does but it soon becomes tiring after moments of smile. The film length starts weighing down the plot which makes it flattened and stretched. A fast pace and crisp plot would have made the movie a more interesting watch. The movie could have been a complete entertainer.

Lootcase tries to do so by every character having some thought process, their little intentions take some time to come out and a clean palette. The cast is first-rate. Kemmu makes you believe that he is a working-class man who is first over moon and then pressurized under the weight of ten crores or dus khoka.

The film has a nice strand that is one should be careful of what they wish for because once you get it you might not know what to do with it. If you do not have money you do not know how to spend it like water which Nandan discovers and gets upset of the fact. Raaz has already been in this avatar before though he is a little ruffian and scruffy.

In this movie, he has a better class and some equivalents which he draws from the animals he watches are very funny. Shorey is watchable. The movie loses stream and we lose interest even less than halfway.

Gajraj Rao appeals in his smiley menace look and Rasika Duggal as Lata Nandan’s wife brings sexual appeal. Even if Rasika would have got a bland character she would have still managed to shine. The movie needed much more sparkle but we get monotony instead
