My Name Is Khan Movie Review

“My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist”. These few words depicts the entire storyline of the movie. It is all about an extraordinary journey of an ordinary man to meet the president of United States, just to tell these words. Movie is a mix of everything  – 9/11 episode, torture of muslims & Katrina in New Orleans. Sounds like a perfect masala flick to capture on the tide of recent terrorism related flicks? It isn’t and My Name is Khan is a new chapter in Indian Cinema, despite a very predicting storyline. Also the movie divides the world in 3 eras – B.C., A.D. & Post 9/11.

Karan Johar has to applauded for his brilliant attempt and once again showcasing the power of Indian cinema. My name is Khan touches the heart of every audience right from the start. It’s a poweful and emotional storytelling tale of a man who lost his love & everything in post 9/11 era.  Sharukh Khan plays the role of Rizwan Khan who suffers from asperger’s syndrome. He moves to San Francisco to live with his brother after demise of their mother. There he meets Mandira who is a divorcee and also has a 10 years old child. They soon fall in love and gets married. Rest is to be seen in the theaters to witness a brilliant directorial attempt.

Movie marks the return of Bollywood’s best screen couple for last 2 decades – Sharukh and Kajol. Kajol is at his best as always and the on-screen couple once again creates magic. However movie belongs to one and only Sharukh Khan. This has man has beyond imagination capability of carrying a movie on his shoulders. Sharukh once again proves that stardom is not earned overnight & there is tremendous hard work behind every success.  This one is the best act by Sharukh at par with his performance in award winning Chal De India. Infact there is not much in the storyline of the movie ,only things which hold viewers till end is Sharukh Khan. Not all actors are blessed with such power.

Very few drawbacks of the movie includes its long length & predictable storyline. Movie is running to packed houses worldwide and this one can’t be missed. My Name is Khan has made a collection of 25 crores on Friday alone, so keep you fingers crossed.

Final Verdict : Stop reading reviews and rush to theaters if you are lucky enough to get a ticket.
