Kurbaan – Movie Review

To describe in one word, Kurbaan is absolutely stunning. Suprisingly this one comes from the banner of Karan Johar which usually produces romantic flicks. Kurbaan, contrary to all other movies from Karan Johar is an intense thriller. Sole of Kurbaan lies in the script written on the burning issue of terrorism. Movie is well scripted and excellently dramatized on screen by the debutant director Rensil D’Silva. Script making capability of Rensil D’Silva is already well known as he scripted Rang De Basanti as well.

Script of Kurbaan is well supported by decent performances from all the actor. Apart from Saif & Kareena, Vivek Oberoi delivers a superb performance in the character of moderate, liberal Muslim, seeking vengeance for his girlfriend’s death. The movie will surely put Vivek career path on right track again.  Saif Ali Khan proved once again that he is one of the most matured actor in recent times and he carries the movie on his shoulders to perfection.

Kurbann is one of the very best of Bollywood in 2009 and going by the initial collections, it must storm the box office. Although Movie is 2 hours & 40 minutes longer, script, direction & powerful performances will hold the audience till very end.

Verdict : Can’t afford to miss this one on big screen.
